Ohioans will have to wait 90 minutes longer to find out if their state has become the first in the nation to legalize medical and recreational marijuana in a single ballot issue.

A Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge granted an emergency injunction filed by the pro-legalization group ResponsibleOhio asking voting hours be extended after voters in Cincinnati and surrounding communities experienced technical problems throughout the day.

Polls in the rest of the state closed at 7:30 p.m. EST.

The controversial Issue 3 would legalize marijuana and give exclusive growing rights to 10 locations across the state. Opponents call the plan a monopoly that will make a few rich people a lot richer.
